The D124 Board of Education will fill a vacant School Board Member seat in May, 2023. The vacated seat is a four year term ending in April, 2025.
We invite community members interested in serving District 124 as a School Board Member to complete the online application form by May 5 for consideration for the vacant seat.
We will schedule interview times for interested applicants with the Board of Education which will commence after our new Board of Education is officially seated on Wednesday, May 3.
Per Board Policy 2:40, A School Member must be, on the date of election or appointment,
- A United States Citizen,
- At least 18 years of age,
- A resident of Illinois and of the District for at least one year immediately preceding the election, and
- A registered voter.
- Reasons for making an individual ineligible for Board Membership include holding an incompatible office and certain types of State or federal employment. A child sex offender, as defined by State law, is ineligible for School Board membership.
