Supporters of Community Ed. program recognized

Two community members who play vital roles in allowing District 124 to offer free adult programming through its Community Education program were recognized at the Jan. 16 Evergreen Park School District 124 Board of Education meeting.

Evergreen Park Fire Department Division Chief Tom Mullally was honored for continuing to train Evergreen Park residents on important, life-saving techniques. In addition to his duties as a firefighter, Division Chief Mullally is also a CPR and First Aid Instructor. To date, he has trained 107 people in CPR, and 25 people in First Aid, through the D124 Community Education program. He is also a CPR Instructor for the Coast Guard, and in total has trained countless individuals in CPR.

Anne Geissler, the sales manager for the Evergreen Park branch of Marquette Bank, was also recognized at the Board of Education meeting.

Beginning this school year, Marquette Bank partnered with the Community Education Program by sponsoring the Winter Craft for Kids class and the Senior Art class.  At the Winter Craft of Kids class, Geissler came to the class with a book bag for each child in attendance. Geissler has also noted that Marquette Bank would like to sponsor two more Community Education classes this spring.
