Several Evergreen Park School District 124 schools have begun hosting their annual Scholastic Book Fair Fundraisers.
The fairs got started at Central Middle School and Southwest Elementary on Oct. 5, as classrooms took turns browsing through the wide array of books on display.
Among the most popular selections this year are the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series, the “Dork Diaries” series, and the “Wonder” books.
The booster clubs of all five EPSD schools host book fairs each year as a fundraiser for their respective school. The goal is to put books in the hands of students, and to ensure that the schools are equipped with the resources they need to ensure student success.
After the book fairs the booster clubs have the option of keeping a portion of the profits to donate to the school in cash, or accepting a larger amount in “Scholastic Bucks,” which can be used to purchase new books for the schools.
