Pre-Kindergarten
/
Advantages – Allows for expansion of Pre-Kindergarten offerings as well as an option for all day Kindergarten. Opens up some space at each elementary building.
Disadvantages – Requires finding a site suitable to build 10-12 Classrooms and some multi-purpose space or finding such a configuration in the Village.
· Capital Cost - $9,500,000 - $10,000,000 (20,000 sq. ft. building requirement plus purchase land plus small additions renovations at each school site.)
· Busing all Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students – 80% paid by the state. Anticipated cost $100,000 per year.

Central
Junior – 6th, 7th, 8th
Advantages – Frees up room in all Elementary Schools, no bussing.
Disadvantage – Does not
address diversity and class size issues.
Limited site at
Capital Cost - $9,000,000 to $10,000,000 (large addition/renovations at Central
Junior High School and
minimum renovations at other schools.)

Partner
Schools – Combining North Schools making one Pre-Kindergarten – 3rd
Grade Center and the other school a 4th – 6th
Advantages – Addresses diversity issues and makes for more equal distribution in class size. Saves on staffing.
Disadvantages – There would still be some space issues and bussing costs.
· Project Capital Cost - $6,500,000 to$7,000,000 (small additions/renovations at each school site)
· Bussing Cost – 80% would be paid by State – Anticipated District Costs @ $250,000

5th/6th
Grade Center/Pre-Kindergarten – 4th Grade –
Advantages – Addresses class size issues, diversity, and provides a better distribution of resources to provide comprehensive programs for Grades 5-6 and Pre-Kindergarten – Grade 4. Staff savings.
Disadvantages – Bussing for
5th/6th Grade students in the Southeast, Southwest and
Northwest quadrants. Bussing
Pre-Kindergarten – 4th Graders from Northeast Areas. Facility addition at

addition at
