Temporary ID Card

Pharmacy Info

If you have not received your unique identifier, the first step to receive a temporary ID card is to contact Blue Cross Blue Shield (1-888-706-0583) between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CDT, Monday through Friday.  The Member Services representative will request the members name, social security number and date of birth to verify their membership and will then provide the members unique identifier, which is needed when members request their temporary cards through the Blue Access® for Members website.

Once one has received his/her unique identifier from Member Services, here are the login instructions for procuring one’s temporary card:

1.      Go to http://www.bcbsil.com/member/index.htm.

2.      Click on Sign-up today! at middle of page

3.      click the Sign Up button in either the blue box on the right side or at middle of page

You are now in the registration process for Blue Access® for Members.

Complete all the required information.  You will be asked to verify your email address by going back to your email to receive verification from Blue Cross Blue Shield before you are able to continue. You can minimize this screen and go to your email for said verification as it will come into your email in just a moment or two.  Return to the website once this has been received and then follow the remaining process.
